Q: What do students need to bring to the testing site?
A: Students must bring a CURRENT GOVERNMENT ISSUED PHOTO ID and a number 2 pencil.
Q: What are the requirements to take the NAPT national certification exam?
A: Student must be at least 18 years of age, and have a High School Diploma, or equivalency, as well as one of the following:
- Student must have worked within the last year in the field of certification for a minimum of one year.
- Student must have attended an NAPT approved Phlebotomy Training & Certification program.
Q: How soon will students receive exam results?
A: Students can have their exam scored on the spot if they so choose, or they their scores will be sent in, and scores will be sent by email directly to students along with applicable certificates and certification cards. This takes approximately 7-10 business days, an email will also be sent upon test correction.
Q: Can I retake the test if I do not pass?
A: Yes, you will need to wait a period of 5 days and re-submit a new application and there will be an additional charge.
Q: What do I receive upon completion?
A: Once the test has been corrected you will be mailed a certificate.
Q: How often do I have to renew my certification? And can I pay for more than one year at a time?
A: The NAPT requires 6 hours of continuing education to renew, or 1,040 hours of verified work experience in the prior two years to renew.
Q: How do I reschedule to take the exam?
A: A candidate who wishes to reschedule the exam should do so two (2) days PRIOR to the examination date. If you do not do so two (2) days before the testing date.
