All individuals who take the NAPT CPT examination have the right to appeal decisions made by the National Association of Phlebotomy Technicians (NAPT) with regard to certification and/or eligibility for certification and/or recertification through the following process:

Step 1: Submission of a written appeal by mail to the National Association of Phlebotomy Technicians (NAPT) Board of Trustees with current correspondence associated with the appeal (i.e. examination denial notification) and supporting documentation (i.e. letters of recommendation, proof of graduation), as well as a $100.00 (non-refundable) processing fee.

Step 2: Appeals are reviewed and considered by the NAPT Board of Trustees at their regularly scheduled spring & fall meetings.

Step 3: Appealing candidates will be notified by National Association of Phlebotomy Technicians (NAPT) of the final decision of the Board of Trustees. Once a decision has been made, there is no further appeal process.

Pass/fail examination scores are not appealable to the NAPT Board of Trustees and are addressed within the NAPT’s CPT Examination Complaint Policy section of this handbook.
